The Right to Information Act 2005 is a law passed by the Parliament of the country to define the rights and actions of citizens in obtaining information. Under this Act, any citizen of India can request for information of public power. This law is applicable to all states and Union Territories of India.

Under the Act, information relating to national security and sovereignty, working of security agencies, foreign policy-related information cannot be obtained. Also, personal information that is effective for personal interest is given on approval of the individual.
Under this Act, no information is required to be given in writing. Only copies of documents are available.
For information Rs. With xx, the Demand draft is to be filled in the form of postal order. xx can also be applied on non judicial stamp paper. Application fee Rs. Tickets can also be purchased on non- Judicial Stamp or Revision.
The applicants belonging to families living under poverty line (BPL FAMILY), scheduled castes and scheduled tribes do not have to pay any application fee. He has to follow the application.
The application can also be written in handwritten letters on plain paper.
The application should be addressed to the public information officer in the office which is required. Under this Act, appointment of public information officers will be mandatory in all government offices.
It is mandatory to submit the application after the application is accepted.
Information is required to be submitted within 30 days from the date of accepting the application.
The applicants can get a copy of the documents after paying the application fee.
If the applicant is not satisfied with the information received, he can appeal to the higher officer.
